Touted as the next wonderkid of Brazil, Gabriel Vasconcelos, is targeted by Manchester City after impressed in a very good year for the player.

The 17 year old has had a excellent 2013 trophy wise, winning the Al Kass Cup in February, where his side beat the might of PSG on penalties in Doha.

He also scored 10 goals in the Rio Cup to help his side along to win the trophy, beating Flamengo PR in the final, this tournament also saw him the golden boot.

“I am very happy because we won many titles. I’m a striker and is very important to have helped Fluminense doing my job is to score goals. Yet had the opportunity to make a final in.” The joy was full – said the player after the match in Gávea .

But now the striker could on his way out of Brazil and into England to join up Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City.

Sergio Vasconcelos, the brother of the striker, and his agent took calls of many clubs but only named two after the strikers steller season.

“Gabriel was very good and this year, therefore, calls were to arise. Manchester City ( ENG ) and Catania ( ITA ) showed interest , but now my brother is focused on Fluminense,” reports Globesporte.

The striker has impressed many during his short time in his home land, so don’t be surprised if we see this young man in the Premier League any time soon.
