Ronaldo: Brazil are “the red hot favourites to win the FIFA World Cup”
Former Seleção international Ronaldo insists Brazil shouldn’t fear anyone.
Head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari finds out who his side will face at the FIFA World Cup, when the groups are drawn later. Ronaldo believes they can cope if paired with the big nations.
“Starting the competition in one of the weaker groups could be a good thing, but I don’t think the Brazil team needs to sit there hoping for a weak group or a strong one,” he told FIFA.com.
“They showed at the FIFA Confederations Cup that they have a very strong side and that they’re the red hot favourites to win the FIFA World Cup.”
Ronaldo won the FIFA World Cup twice with Brazil, in 1994 and 2002. The 37 year-old, who scored 62 goals in 98 appearances for the Seleção, is also the tournament’s all-time top scorer, on 15.
