Neymar: “Barcelona have welcomed me with open arms”
Seleção star, Neymar, has spoken out about his move to Barcelona in the summer, and how he has settled in, in the Catalan capital.
Neymar joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2013, after a long negotiations, he moved from Santos for €57 million.
Since moving to Barcelona Neymar has apadated well to the Spanish game, and has already cememted his place in Martino’s starting eleven.
Speaking to UEFA’s official Champions League magazine Neymar said: “I'm adapting well. I'm working as much as possible for the team. Clearly the start is hard when you arrive - you have to play a bit slower, but bit by bit, I'm getting there.”
He also praised Brazilian team mate Dani Alves, in helping him in his dream move to Catalonia.
“You must have a good friend alongside you to help you with the things you need. I have Dani, who is really important in helping me adapt, both at the club and outside it.” Reports, FootballEspana.
“He's someone who has helped me quite a lot, and my family too. My family continue to be as they always have been – they're helping me.”
Many felt that Neymar would struggle to adapt his game to the Spanish way of playing but the 21 year old feels he has coped well: “There are differences, both on and off the pitch. Here, you learn how to live and be a good professional.
“In Brazil, if you have a ball, you are already happy. If you are happy, then everything will be alright.”
Neymar has scored four goals for his new club in 13 appearances
