Jorginho explains preference for representing Italy rather Brazil
Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho has explained why he wants to represent Italy at international level.
The 21 year-old was born in Imbituba, but has already been called up to Italy’s under-21 side.
"I left Brazil very early to play here, I grew at Verona's youth set up," he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
"It's logical that I dreamed of playing for Brazil's national team, but knowing the competition in Brazil, and all the difficulties, I would like to play for the Italian national team.
"I have Italian blood too. I believe they don't know me in Brazil.”
Jorginho has made an impressive start to the new season with Verona, scoring five goals. His good form has attracted the attention of Arsenal and other leading European clubs.
