Gomes: "Redknapp doesn't like Brazilians, so Caesar must leave"
Tottenham kepper’ Heurelho Gomes has told Julio Caesar to leave QPR as Harry Redknapp, ‘doesn’t like Brazilians.’
Julio Caesar joined OPR last season to help the R’s stave off relegation but the inevitable happened and Caesar couldn’t stop his side falling into the second tier of English football.
And now Gomes has spoke out to Caesar to start looking for a new club if he wants to star for the Seleção in the 2014 World Cup.
GOAL.com reports, "Julio has to work with someone [Redknapp] who is almost impossible to have his mind changed," he told Radio ESPN in Brazil. "I worked with him at Tottenham, and I had my share of difficulties too.
"He doesn't like South Americans much, Brazilians mainly. He doesn't care if you're on Seleção’s first eleven or not.
"Julio will keep having problems if he continues at QPR. If he gets any chance to leave, he should do so, in order to get playing time."
Gomes believes that his goalkeeping counter part is part of Scolari’s plans for the World Cup but has to get match fit if he wants to help Brazil to win the cup in their own country.
"Coaches have goalkeepers as a high confidence spot, and Scolari thinks Julio Cesar has what it takes to go to the World Cup. But one should be playing at least from January onwards to get in good shape for the cup."
Gomes and Caesar are still yet to make an appearance for their respected clubs this season.
