Alexandre Gallo expects under-17 stars to quickly progress into the full Brazil squad
Brazil under-17 head coach Alexandre Gallo expects the players who starred at the FIFA U-17 World Cup to get chances with the full Brazil squad.
The Seleção were knocked out of the tournament on penalties by Mexico at the quarter-final stage.
The likes of Boschilia, Nathan and Mosquito, however, caught the eye with some impressive performances.
Gallo anticipates a quick elevation to the full squad for them, with Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari’s assistant, Flavio Murtosa, monitoring the youngsters progress.
“Felipão [Scolari] and I have talked a lot about these players. We are keeping an eye on a number of them. In fact Murtosa came to watch one of them in the first game,” Gallo told fifa.com.
“Brazil has a tradition of bringing players through early, and of giving youngsters a chance, with an eye on World Cups to come. In football, anything can happen.”
