Fernandinho: ‘I’ve settled in well’ at Manchester City
Midfielder Fernandinho insists he has settled quickly at Manchester City.
The 28 year-old joined the Premier League side from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30 million in June.
Despite the numerous differences between life in Donetsk compared to Manchester, Fernandinho is happy with how quickly he and his family have adjusted.
"I've settled in well here," he told UEFA.com. "Despite the short time it's going well, me and my family are doing well. My son is going to school, my wife is doing something she's used to and she may well also do some courses. The normal things in life are going well. In my professional life I'm playing always and everything is OK.”
The Brazilian understands his role at the heart of manager Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield is key.
"My main task is to make the team play well," he continued. ”I have followed that all my life. The spine of a team is the midfield, so if the midfield is doing well, the team have a tendency to do well.”
Fernandinho has started 11 times of Manchester City this season. He is yet to score.
