Neymar and Thiago Silva nominated for FIFA Ballon d’Or
Neymar and Thiago Silva have been nominated for the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
The Brazilian duo played key roles as A Seleção lifted the Confederations Cup in June. Thiago Silva captained Brazil, while Neymar scored four goals and was awarded the Golden Ball.
Domestically, Thiago Silva was also captain as Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Ligue 1 champions.
Neymar was a runner-up with Santos to Corinthians in the Campeonato Paulista, before joining Barcelona in May. The Catalans paid €57 million for the 21 year-old.
Neymar has made a good start at the Camp Nou. He netted the opener, as Barça beat Real Madrid 2-1 in Saturday’s Clásico.
