Felipão confirms Diego Costa selection but needs confirmation from the forward
Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed he intends to select Diego Costa.
“I have offered Diego Costa the chance to be a World Cup player,” he said, as reported by Football Espana. “Because Brazil are going to be there.
“Now he had to decide.”
Costa is yet to confirm whether he will represent Brazil or Spain at international level.
He received notice this week from the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) stating Scolari will pick him for the November friendlies with Chile and Honduras.
Whether the 25 year-old choses to accept the call up will decide his international future, though the CBF could challenge any decision to switch allegiance to Spain.
The Atlético de Madrid forward has been excellent this season. He’s scored 12 goals in ten appearances, including two against Austria Wien on Tuesday.
