No regrets over failed Chelsea bid for Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho
Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho insists he does not regret missing out on a transfer to Chelsea.
A bid was made by the Blues when the 28 year-old was owned by Shakhtar Donetsk.
Fernandinho claims his then employees neglected to inform him about the offer. He eventually signed for Manchester City in June. They paid Shakhtar £30 million.
The Londrina-native is very happy at his new club, with the Chelsea link no longer an issue.
"It is a complicated story,” he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"There was contact before Manchester City came in for me but nobody told me about this in Shakhtar.
"I don't know what happened between Shakhtar and Chelsea but I'm very happy. I have no regrets.
"City's results show this. We try to play good football and in the last few games we have played good football and got good results."
Manchester City face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. José Mourinho’s side come into the tie with a one point advantage. Fernandinho is expected to start, as are fellow Brazilians David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar for Chelsea.
