Brazilian Football Federation inform FIFA Diego Costa will be selected for Chile friendly
The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) have informed FIFA that head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari intends to select Diego Costa for the Seleção’s friendly with Chile next month.
According to AS, the CBF sent a letter to FIFA on Thursday morning outlining their intentions.
Brazil play Chile on November 15, before facing Honduras three days later. Both ties will be held in the United States.
AS claims Costa had a meeting with Spain manager Vicente del Bosque on October 3 where he confirmed his desire to represent Los Rojiblancos.
Should he want to maintain that stance he would have to send a letter to FIFA, which will also be seen by the CBF, confirming his intentions. If he hasn’t done so by next Thursday, Costa will be obliged to join up with the Brazilian team and could risk a domestic suspension by failing to do so.
