Neymar prepared for first ‘Clásico’ showdown
Brazilian forward Neymar has insisted he is ready for his first ‘Clásico’.
Barcelona face Real Madrid on Saturday and the 21 year-old understands what is at stake.
“The ‘Clásico’ is the most important game for any player, he told AS. “It’s the match every player wants to play in, it’s the game where each player wants to play his best football. This will be my first ‘Clásico’ and I hope to have a great debut, preferably with a victory.”
Despite the tension, Neymar believes it should be treated like any other game.
“I think the anxiety is the same before any match,” he said. “I understand that we’re talking about a very important ‘Clásico’, but I think that butterfly-in-the-stomach feeling is the same before any game.”
Neymar has made a good start to life at Barcelona. The former Santos youngster has netted two goals and provided eight assists in eight appearances for the Catalan side.
