Robinho scores as Messi denies Milan victory
AC Milan were denied victory in the Champions League after Robinho’s opening goal was cancelled out by Lionel Messi.
Milan started brightly and took the lead when their Brazilian contingent took centre stage at the San Siro.
After only nine minutes of the tie, Robinho latched on to Kaka’s assist to give Milan the lead.
However, Lionel Messi, playing alongside Seleção star Neymar once more, rescued an important point for his side in Italy.
After picking the ball up outside the box the Argentinian took on one of his trademark runs and slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the Milan goal whilst off balance under pressure from the defence.
It was a game that Brazilians really controlled and Robinho should have put his side infront for a second time but he failed to get onto the end of a Sulley Muntari cross and miss kicked wide.
The game finished 1-1 leaving Barcelona top of Group H, two points ahead of Milan after the opening three games.
