Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho wants to represent Italy at international level
Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho hopes he is able to represent Italy soon.
The 21 year-old was born in Brazil, but qualifies for the Azzurri, having lived in the country for six years.
“I feel Italian,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia.
“I dream of playing in and winning the World Cup with the national side. I hope that the bureaucratic issues are resolved quickly.”
Jorginho has been capped once at under-21 level for Italy, but legal issues have prevented him from playing more.
The youngster has been instrumental as newly-promoted Verona continue to surprise this season. Andrea Mandorlini’s side are currently 4th, while Jorginho has netted five goals in eight matches.
