Report: Arsenal and Chelsea watch Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho in 3-2 Parma win
Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho was watched by Arsenal and Chelsea representatives on Sunday, according to reports in Italy.
The 21 year-old netted twice as Andrea Mandorlini’s side defeated Parma 3-2.
The newly-promoted outfit are now 4th in Serie A. Jorginho has been key to that ascent, contributing five goals in eight appearances.
His good form has not gone unnoticed. Arsenal are believed to have held talks with his agent last week, before having a party present at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi yesterday. Liverpool, Chelsea and Milan have also been linked.
Despite scoring two goals, Jorginho’s performance didn’t satisfy manager Mandorini.
“I think he played his worst game of the season,” the 53 year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia. “I changed his position more than once because he was struggling.
“In the end I decided to not replace him and perhaps that was the right decision.”
Jorginho was born in Brazil - Imbituba - but has represented Italy at under-21 level.
