Injury rules Bayern Munich defender Dante out of Viktoria Plzeň tie
Defender Dante will miss Bayern Munich’s Champions League tie with Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday.
The 30 year-old suffered a deep cut to his left ankle in Saturday's 4-1 win against 1. FSV Mainz 05. He had to be replaced by David Alaba after 42 minutes.
Dante is expected to be out for two weeks, according to uefa.com. As well as the Plzeň fixture, the Brazilian international will likely be unavailable for Bayern’s next two Bundesliga games - home to Hertha BSC and away at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The centre-back has featured 11 times this season, firmly establishing himself under new manager Josep Guardiola.
Bayern Munich sit top of Group D with six points after two rounds. The Bavarians defeated Manchester City 3-1 last time out.
