Scolari not giving up on Diego Costa
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has suggested that he could call up Diego Costa for the upcoming friendlies against Honduras and Chile as the uncertainty over the Atlético Madrid striker's international future continues.
The 25-year-old has reportedly decided to represent Spain at international level after only previously featuring for the Seleção in friendlies, but Scolari refuses to give up on the prolific striker, although he has insisted that it's solely up to him whether to pick Costa or not, reports Goal.com.
"I have the legal authority and freedom to call him up whenever I think I should do so and no-one else," Scolari told Globoesporte.
"Nobody can decide if he’s going to be called up or not except me and I’m thinking of giving him a call-up.
"A player who has played in two friendlies for Brazil shouldn’t play with another national team."
Costa made his Brazil debut ina friendly against Italy this year, but can still switch allegiances as he has yet to feature for Brazil in a competitive game.
