Report: Hernanes to demand January Lazio exit
It is being reported in Italy that Lazio midfielder Hernanes will ask to be sold in January, as Arsenal, Tottenham and Atlético Madrid look to move in.
The Seleção midfielder’s contract expires in June 2015 and talks over a renewal have repeatedly stalled.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Hernanes is prepared to demand a transfer in the January window, reports Football Italia.
Lazio would be willing to accept his departure, but only for bids of at least €25m (£21m).
The 28-year-old has been linked with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, while La Liga side Atlético Madrid have also reportedly joined the race.
The Gazzetta claims that of the teams vying for his signature, Atlético would be preferable for Hernanes and he is eager to join a club playing Champions League football.
The Rome club are apparently prepared to release the midfielder now that they have signed Felipe Anderson for his role.
