São Paulo are considering the terminating defender Lúcio’s contract.

A report on sempreinter.com suggests the Tricolor are growing frustrated with the defender’s continued injury problems.

Lúcio has made just ten appearances in the Brasileirão this season. He last played in a 1-0 defeat to Internacional, on July 25.

Whether the 35 year-old, who arrived last December after being released by Juventus, has been missed is questionable. São Paulo have won just one of the nine matches he has started.

Muricy Ramalho’s side sit 15th after 28 rounds, two points above the drop, despite having one of the best defensive records in the league – only four teams have conceded less goals.

No decision on Lúcio’s future has been made as yet, but his fitness will be monitored closely over the coming months.
