Felipão hails Neymar’s attitude and reflects on a successful year for Brazil
Luiz Felipe Scolari has praised Neymar and believes Brazil now ‘have everything’ in place for next summer’s World Cup.
The Seleção head coach saw his team defeat Zambia 2-0 in Beijing on Tuesday. It was a second positive result in a week, after Saturday’s win over South Korea by the same margin.
Neymar netted a free-kick in the latter fixture, held at the Seoul World Cup stadium.
The 21 year-old has drawn a glowing reference from Scolari. The former Chelsea manager praised Neymar’s attitude, both on and off the pitch.
“It is very easy to have a player like Neymar on the team,” the 64 year-old said, as reported by goal.com. “He's so dedicated, he loves playing football, he's got a lot of personality and he behaves very well, on and off the pitch.
“He doesn't behave like a star. He's completely different from what most people might think. I hope he continues to be like that, because for us, it's great.”
Brazil have two friendlies next month, against Honduras and another so far unnamed side. After a year where they have lost just twice - to England and Switzerland - and won the Confederations Cup, Scolari believes his plans are now on track.
"I think that it was a great year,” Felipão continued. “After the first few games we were still trying to find the best formation and then the pieces to that formation. Now we have everything.
“From the last few friendlies before the Confederations Cup, we managed to put this puzzle together and to get 10 victories out of 11 matches, if I'm not mistaken. Today we are in a much better condition, and we can say that our team is very balanced."
