Brasileirão leaders Cruzeiro have the chance to pull 13 points clear at the top after Grêmio were held by 10-man Fluminense.

Runaway leaders Cruzeiro face Atlético Miniero on Sunday evening and can now pull even further clear thanks to Rafael Sobis’ late equaliser against second-placed Grêmio.

Grêmio appeared to be on their way to victory after Matheus Bressaelli gave them a 38th minute lead and it looked like the three points were heading to the visitors when Fluminense then had Biro Biro sent off with 17 minutes remaining.

However, Sobis struck in the dying seconds to rescue a point for the hosts to leave Grêmio 10 points behind the leaders.

Elsewhere in Brasileirão Vitoria claimed a 2-1 victory over Coritiba after Dinei struck a second half winner for the hosts.

Marquinhos had put Vitoria into an early lead before Geraldo grabbed the leveler on the stroke of half time.

Goals from Everton Costa and Walter Montillo saw Santos beat Ponte Preta 2-1.

Santos got a scare late on when Cicinho was sent off and Rafael Ratao pulled one back in the closing moments but they held on to earn the three points.
