Fluminense manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo insists simulation should be accepted as part of football.

The 61 year-old was reacting to the dismissal of forward Biro Biro in his side’s 1-1 draw with Grêmio on Saturday.

“Biro’s expulsion was not because of the dive,” he was quoted as saying by goal.com.

“The first yellow was unnecessary. Simulation the part of the game of football. If Biro deserved to go or not is for others to decide.”

The 18 year-old’s red card didn’t seem to hinder Flu too much, with Rafael Sóbis able to cancel out Bressan’s opener to secure a crucial point.

A run of just one win in six has seen Fluminense slide towards the bottom of the Brasileirão. In 13th place, only three points separates them from the drop. They travel to top of the table Cruzeiro on Wednesday.
