Adriano: Neymar ‘ahead of’ Bale
Barcelona defender Adriano believes team-mate and fellow Brazilian international Neymar is a better player than Gareth Bale.
"Neymar is ahead of Bale,” the 28 year-old told Cadena Ser, as reported by Inside Futbol.
"Due to what he has done in football, both in Brazil and what he is doing now at our club."
Neymar won a number of trophies with Santos, including the 2011 Copa Libertadores and 2012 Recopa Sudamericana.
Aged just 21, he has already won 42 caps for Brazil, netting 26 goals.
Neymar came to prominence in front of a worldwide audience at this summer’s Confederation Cup. He won the Golden Ball - the award for the best player at the tournament, while only Fred and Fernando Torres scored more goals.
Since arriving at Barcelona, in June, Neymar has made a largely favourable impression, with some good performances. He has netted twice in seven La Liga appearances and contributed five assists.
Neymar is currently on international duty with Brazil. Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side face South Korea on Saturday, before a tie with Zambia in Beijing next week.
