Michu: Costa would have ‘no problems fitting in’ with Spain
Swansea City striker Michu believes Diego Costa could be easily integrated into the Spanish national team.
The 27 year-old, who received his maiden call up to La Furia Roja this week, has first hand experience of Costa’s capabilities.
“I've played with him for Rayo and Celta,” Michu told a press conference, as reported by AS.
“As a footballer, he's in his prime. He's a great lad and I like him a lot. I don't know if he's going to play for Spain and I won't talk about a hypothetical situation, but I can tell you what he's like as a person: he's a good guy and he would have no problems fitting in here."
Atlético de Madrid forward Costa is expected to switch allegiances and play international football with Spain, rather than Brazil - his country of birth.
The 25 year-old has been capped twice for the Seleção, but is yet to play competitively, having been overlooked for the Confederations Cup.
