Filipe Luís: Porto game ‘will be complicated’
Filipe Luís expects Porto to provide tough opposition for Atlético de Madrid.
The two sides meet in the Champions League at the Estádio do Dragão on Tuesday.
“Porto are a complete team that has good forwards, they’ve played in the Champions League for several years and are dangerous because they have quality players capable of scoring,” the 28 year-old said in his pre-match press conference, as reported by Football Espana.
“It will be complicated. [But] it is very difficult to talk about favourites. Although Porto are favourites because they playing at home, we have great possibilities.
“We will play with humility until the last minute and fight. Porto are a side that have been seeded in recent years but we know we can win any game if we do the work we have to do and are focused.
“There is nothing more important than the team. Atlético will always fight for every game. The squad is very well balanced and matches up very well.
“We have demonstrated what we can do in the Europa League and the European Super Cup that we won last season.”
Porto and Atlético last met in 2009. Hulk was amongst the scorers as Portistas ran out 3-0 winners.
Both sides are still unbeaten this season and won their opening Group G matches. Porto defeated Austria Wien 1-0, while Atlético were 3-1 victors at home to Zenit Saint Petersburg.
