Marquinhos scores to send PSG top of Ligue 1
Marquinhos helped Paris Saint-Germain to go top of Ligue 1 and extend his side’s unbeaten run to 19 games.
The young Brazilian scored the first goal in a 2-0 win over Toulouse in a game that Lucas Moura also starred.
After an even first 40 minutes, the deadlock was broken when Marquinhos rose highest to meet a Thiago Motta corner.
His first attempt was well saved by Ali Ahamada in the Toulouse goal but the defender managed to bundle home at the second attempt.
PSG’s win was wrapped up 11 minutes from time when substitute Edinson Cavani scored from the penalty spot after being brought down himself.
The win leaves Marquinhos and his side top of the league, keeping pressure on the big spending Monaco.
