Jonas respects Valencia’s Rami withdrawal
Valencia forward Jonas has admitted he is ‘sad’ about the furore surrounding team-mate Adil Rami.
The French centre-back has been frozen out at the Mestalla after criticising team-mates and coach Miroslav Đukić in an interview earlier this week. Rami’s comments were described as ‘disrespecful public protests’ by the club.
Jonas believes the situation is difficult, but respects the decision to leave the 27 year-old out of Wednesday's 1-0 win against Granada, a game in which the Brazilian netted the winner.
“I am good friends with Rami, I get along with him very well, leaving this issue to one side,” he told reporters, according to Football Espana.
“I’m a little sad about what happened, but we have to abide by the decisions of the club and the only thing we were thinking of was the match, about playing well and so we are happy for the win.”
