Oscar helps Chelsea go top
Chelsea earned a 2-0 victory over rivals Fulham with help from Brazil international Oscar; going top of the league in the process.
Oscar opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge before a rare John Obi Mikel goal sealed the three points for Jose Mourinho’s men.
It was another underwhelming performance from the men in blue but they did enough to register their third Premier League win of the season.
Chelsea went in to the match without a win in four games in all competitions and Fulham striker Darren Bent almost made them suffer even further but he wasted the chance early on.
However, the home side eventually found their feet after the half time break and took the lead through the Seleção star after 52 minutes.
The 22-year-old latched on a loose ball after David Stockdale in the Fulham goal failed to hold on to Andre Schurrle’s shot.
The win was sealed on 84 minutes when John Obi Mikel scored his first league goal in seven years at Chelsea after he poked home from John Terry’s knock down in the box.
It was a game that Chelsea found comfortable in the end and also so Ramires recalled to the starting eleven, however, it was Oscar who stole the headlines with a Man of the Match performance.
