Pato had European interest
Alexandre Pato has admitted he had chances to leave Corinthians this summer.
The 23 year-old only joined the Brazilian outfit from Milan in January, but his impressive form generated interest from a number of European sides, including Tottenham Hotspur.
“I received offers, they called Corinthians, sent a fax, to sign me in the window, but I sat down with the staff, talked with my agent and I told them I wanted to stay,” he told Sportv.
“I wanted to help Corinthians fight for a place in Libertadores.”
Pato has scored seven goals in 12 starts for Corinthians this season and was rewarded with a recall to the Brazilian national team for the recent friendlies with Australia and Portugal. He found the net in the 6-0 victory against the Socceroos.
