Rodgers: Loss of Coutinho changed the game
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits the loss of Philippe Coutinho was costly in his side’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City last night.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder had to be replaced with Liverpool 2-1 ahead, after picking up a knock in the second half.
His departure seemed to swing the momentum in Swansea’s favour and they equalised through Michu.
"We showed great character to come from behind so early on in the game, but probably young Coutinho going off disrupted the flow of our game,” stated Rodgers in his post match interview.
"I haven't seen the tackle. He's very sore in the changing room, and we're hoping it will only be bruising."
Coutinho has grown into an instrumental player at Anfield, after arriving from Internazionale in January.
