Lotito claims Napoli interest in Hernanes
Lazio rejected a bid from Napoli for Brazilian midfielder Hernanes, claims the Rome-based clubs' president Claudio Lotito.
The 28 year-old, who has been with the Biancocelesti since 2010, was also believed to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain.
“There was an offer from Napoli this summer for Hernanes,” stated Lotito. “However, the bid was not compatible with the value of the player.
“I explained to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis that the player was not for sale and I’m not sure whether Hernanes had a desire to go to Naples anyway.”
The Brazilian international cost Lazio €11.1 million when they signed him from São Paulo three years ago.
Last season was his most prolific to date in Rome. He netted 14 goals in 53 appearances and was instrumental as Lazio lifted the Coppa Italia.
