Brazil not reliant on Neymar, insists Postiga
Valencia forward Hélder Postiga insists Brazil are more than just Neymar.
The Barcelona attacker was instrumental once more for the Seleção, contributing a goal and an assist as they battled back to beat Portugal 3-1 in a friendly, earlier today.
The 21 year-old now has 26 goals in 42 appearances at international level and was named player of the tournament at the Confederations Cup this summer.
While undoubtedly crucial to Brazil’s recent success, Postiga believes Neymar has a strong supporting cast.
"Neymar played very well and is a fantastic player but it's not just Neymar, this Brazil team is fantastic," the 31 year-old told reporters.
Postiga also admits that Portugal struggled to cope with the tempo of Brazil’s play.
"The start of the game was good,” he continued. “We scored an early goal and we played very well. After that it was a difficult game. Brazil played with intensity and we couldn't handle it.”
Portugal took the lead through a Raul Meireles strike, before goals from Thiago Silva, Neymar and Jô completed the turnaround to hand Brazil their second win in five days, after Saturday's trouncing of Australia.
