Chelsea's Ramires keen on Benfica return
Chelsea midfielder Ramires has admitted he wants to return to Benfica before his career comes to an end.
The Brazil international, who starred in the Seleção’s 3-1 win over Portugal on Tuesday, moved to Stamford Bridge in 2010 from Benfica and has been a first team regular ever since.
However, the 26-year old has now thrown his long-term future at the club into doubt as he revealed his desire to return to Estadio da Luz at some stage in the future, reports The Metro.
“Football is full of surprises and I would like to return one day,’ Ramires told a press conference.
“Benfica have a great team with a great history, a great manager. They have only been lacking titles recently.
“I’ve still got a tremendous amount of affection for Benfica, not just because they opened the door to Europe for me but because of all the things I experienced there, how they welcomed me and how well everything turned out. I can only thank the club.’
