Marcos Rocha replaces injured Dani Alves in Brazil squad
Atlético Mineiro right back Marcos Rocha will be handed a golden opportunity this week, as he receives a Brazil call-up after an injury to Daniel Alves.
The player has featured in the Brazil squad once before, when Mano Menezes called him up for the Superclássico das Américas versus Argentina in 2012, but he failed to make an appearance.
Rocha comes in to the side as Dani Alves has a slight injury and would have been unfit for both of Brazil’s games.
The Brazil side face Australia on Saturday at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasilia before travelling to the USA where they face Portugal on Tuesday in Foxborough, just south of Boston.
If Rocha can manage to get into the starting eleven for either of these games, he’ll get a great chance to make an impression in a position which Brazil struggles for decent back-up, especially since Rafael da Silva’s banishment from the international set-up.
