Réver believes Atlético Mineiro can challenge for Brazilian title
Atlético Mineiro centre back and captain Revér says that his club can still challenge at the top of the Brazilian league table, despite losing Bernard.
Having recently been knocked out the of the Brazilian Cup by Botafogo, the defender believes that the squad can focus more on the league campaign, and has the strength in depth to mount a serious challenge.
Rever commented: "Although we faced Botafogo, who are now one of the favourite teams to win the Brazilian Cup, elimination was not in our plans.
“Now we have no other choice but to put maximum effort into the Brasileiro. We did not start the season as we wished, but our team will get back on track. It was not by chance that we won the Mineiro and then the Libertadores. Our group is very strong" he said.
Réver will be part of the Atlético Mineiro side which faces Fluminense tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Independência. They currently lie 13th in the league table.
