I'm thrilled to have scored my first Barcelona goal, says Neymar
Barcelona star Neymar is "thrilled" to have netted his first goal for the club against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday.
The Brazil international was once again consigned to a starting place among the substitutes, but found the net almost immediately after emerging from the bench.
Atlético striker David Villa had already scored with a first-time volley against his former club, but Neymar replaced Lionel Messi in the 59th minute and scored an equaliser just seven minutes later.
Dani Alves found his compatriot with a looping cross that set up the young Brazil international to head home and salvage a draw in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
"I'm thrilled to have scored my first goal," he told AS. "I’m happy because I came on and was able to help the team in a difficult situation.
"Atlético are a strong side, and they showed that again in this match. It’s a good result and now we have to do the job at home."
