Neymar's goal will boost his confidence, says Xavi
Barcelona star Xavi believes that Neymar's goal against Atlético Madrid will give the young forward a big confidence boost.
The 21-year-old, who moved to Camp Nou for €57 million this summer, started Wednesday's Spanish Super Cup first leg from the bench.
However, he took the injured Lionel Messi's place at half-time and immediately made an impact for his new team, heading home an equaliser in the 66th minute.
And Xavi feels that the young Brazil international will now have the confident to go on and score more goals.
"Neymar's goal was pretty important. It will give him confidence," Xavi told reporters after his side's draw.
The Spain international also hailed the importance of Neymar’s away goal, which gives them a good chance during the home leg on August 28.
" Atlético are a strong rival and they defend really well," he added.
"We tried to do a good job both in the first and second half, but it was not easy. Toward the end we found more space.
"We tried to be patient and we managed to score a goal that will help us in the return leg."
