Thiago Silva extends PSG deal
Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Thiago Silva has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at Parc des Princes until 2018.
The Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona earlier this summer, as the Spanish champions look to strengthen their defence.
However, PSG told Barca that they had no intention to sell Silva and have now firmed up their stance by offering the 28-year-old a one-year extension to his previous deal.
Thiago Silva joined the Ligue 1 outfit from Milan in the summer of 2012 and has since developed into a key player for the club, guiding them to their first domestic title since the 1993-94 season last term.
He recently admitted that he harboured major doubts when leaving Serie A for France but admitted it has proved to be the right decision.
Silva told BeIn Sport: "This season I think French football will show the world how far it has come, but I had this doubt, I wasn't sure I'd made the right choice.
"I admit that even before we won the title I was still thinking about it. But today I know I made the right choice because I'm working with some formidable people."
