Júlio Baptista set to make debut for Cruzeiro
New Cruzeiro signing Júlio Baptista is set to make his debut for the club against Flamengo in the Copa do Brasil.
The 31-year-old is likely to begin on the bench at the Mineirão following his move from La Liga side Malaga.
"I'm really anxious to play and have been training strongly over the past two weeks to improve my fitness," Baptista told reporters.
"We are already approaching the half-way point of the season but I'm confident I'll have no problem adapting quickly."
Baptista, a former Seleção star, formerly played for Real Madrid and Arsenal in a long career in Europe.
But now the Brazilian is set to begin the twilight years of his playing career back in his homeland with Cruzeiro.
