Luís Fabiano believes he has nothing to prove at São Paulo among growing criticism from the club’s fans.

He has been accused of being a choker, as he keeps failing to impress in decisive games, with some also pointing out that he scores mainly against small teams.

The striker talked with Globo Esporte about the situation, he said: “I don’t need to prove anything to anybody. It’s only at São Paulo that things haven’t happened how I would like.

“I was happier and won more titles at Sevilla. Unfortunately, this is the true.”

Luís Fabiano also denied claims that he only scores against small teams, he said: “It’s impossible to score 173 goals only against Mogi Mirim and other small teams.

“I have scored against Corinthians, but we didn’t win. When I play, fans and press think I need to score. I try to do my best, I love São Paulo, but I am 32 years old, it’s hard to play with this weight.

“If São Paulo win and I won’t score, will they call me a choker? But I have learned how to handle it. This will be over when the situation improves.”
