Inter are reportedly set to renew their interest in brining Udinese centre-back Danilo to the San Siro.

Reports emanating from Italy have suggested the 29-year-old has been lined up by Nerazzurri coach Walter Mazzarri after a proposed move for Basel’s Aleksandar Dragovic hit a snag, as reported on Football Italia.

Danilo has been linked with transfer to Inter throughout the close season, having built a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in Serie A since arriving from Palmeiras in 2011.

However, the Brazilian previously insisted there was no truth to the rumours and stressed he is quite content with life with the Zebrette.

“No club has made an offer to buy me and my agent hasn’t told me of any interest from Inter,” he told TuttoUdinese earlier this month.

“At this point I will stay at Udinese and it will not be reluctantly – I feel good and had a good season last time. I hope to repeat that and continue to grow.”

Danilo was virtually ever-present for Udinese last season playing in 32 league games for Francesco Guidolin’s side.

The former Atlético Paranaense man has a contract with Udinese until 2016 and could be available for around €8 million.
