Fluminense’s experienced midfielder Deco has admitted that this season is the last time he is playing the Brazilian league.

Deco will celebrate his 36th birthday next month, and physical decline has already been noticeable, as he has missed many games due to injuries.

The midfielder talked with TV Globo about his plans, he said: “Time is short in football, you feel nostalgic when you consider retiring.

“I am competitive and I want to win, but the time comes you can’t be like that anymore. I have contract until the end of the year and I want to have a good performance in the league.”

Deco admitted this is his last Brasileirão, he said: “This is my last Brasileirão, but maybe, if we are champions, I might want to play Libertadores and win a title I have never won.”
