Guly do Prado netted a quickfire hat-trick in Southampton’s 8-0 preseason win over Spanish fourth division side Palamos.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men stormed to an easy victory after goals from Do Prado, Adam Lallana, Jason Puncheon, Morgan Schneiderlin, Jay Rodriguez and Luke Shaw.
Lallana opened the scoring with a simple finish before Puncheon added a second with a powerful effort.
Schneiderlin then notched Southampton’s third before the break with a close range finish and a raft of substitutions were made for the second half.
Rodriguez got the ball rolling after the interval with a fourth before Do Prado scored three goals in nine minutes to make it 7-0.
Shaw then rounded off the rout with an eighth goal and Southampton now march on to their next preseason fixture full of confidence after the demolition.
Southampton’s new signings Dejan Lovren and Victor Wanyama also featured in the win, as Pochettino prepares for the upcoming league campaign.
