Internacional’s president Giovvanni Luigi has officially confirmed the signing of Al-Gharafa’s experienced midfielder Alex, he signed a contract until 2015.
The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but it is estimated to be in the region of €3 million. This will be Alex’s second spell at the Porto Alegre-based club.
The transfer has not been registered at Brazil’s FA yet, but it is expected to be ready by the end of the day.
Alex has previously played for Spartak Moscow and Corinthians, before joining Al-Gharafa last year.
Internacional are also signing Newell’s striker Ignacio Scocco, but there are concerns they might not be able to register him in time.
Scocco is expected to be Leandro Damião’s replacement, as Napoli and Zenit are interested in the former Hermann Aichinger striker.
