Sport Recife have confirmed the signing of Alania’s winger Diego Maurício on a loan deal.
Diego Maurício is also known as ‘Drogbinha’ or ‘Little Drogba’, he started his career at Flamengo but he has never lived up the expectations.
Sport Recife’s director of football Marcos Amaral talked with Globo Esporte about the new signing, he said: “Diego Maurício signed a one-year contract, he will arrive in Recife for the medical. We will try to sign a left-back since he arrived.”
He started his career at Flamengo, where he played from 2010 to 2012 without impressing, then moved to Russian club Alania, but he could not live up to the hype either.
Sport are currently in third place in the Brazilian national second division, the top four are promoted to the top division.
