Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura has played down comparisons with Brazil team-mate and Barcelona star Neymar.

The 20-year-old has established himself in the senior Seleção squad with Neymar, after previously playing together at youth level, and have both made big-money moves from Brazil to Europe this year.

But the former São Paulo star insists the comparisons end there and that he does not wish to be compared with the €57 million man.

He told ESPN‘s Bola de Vez: “There’s no way to follow his [Neymar"s] rhythm. It’s difficult to compare when the teams and the moments are different.

“He has always been an example and a good friend, but I try write my own history."

The winger moved to the Parc des Princes during the January transfer window last season for a €35m fee, with the likes of Manchester United also vying for his signature at the time.

And Lucas admits the efforts of now-departed sporting director Leonardo were pivotal in tempting him to the French capital.

“Leo was the key for me to make the move," he explained. “He used to make phone calls, telling me the club wanted to sign me.

“PSG had the better offer, a wonderful project and a great vision."

Lucas was part of the Brazil side that lifted the Confederations Cup trophy in June after beating World champions Spain in the final.

But he only made two appearances and was as an unused substitute for three, which Lucas admits was frustrating.

“Nobody likes it, but we have to understand and respect the coach and team-mates. At that moment, the squad was very united," he continued.
