Fluminense’s left-back Fabián Monzón has completed a move to Italian Serie A club Catania.

The full-back was on loan from Olympique Lyon, but barely played for Fluminense, as he struggled with injuries and had to face strong competition for a place in the first team.

The loan deal was supposed to end in December, but the loan deal was terminated earlier as Monzón alleged personal reasons to leave the club.

Catania are paying a transfer fee estimated in 3.3 million Euros, Fabián Monzón is signing a four-year contract with the club.

Monzón is the 14th Argentine player at Catania, the squad include only ten Italian players.

Ronan has been promoted to Fluminense’s senior team to replace Monzón, while Carlinhos will remain at the club, despite previous interest from Galatasaray.
