Juninho Pernambucano has agreed to re-join Vasco in a contract until December, when the former Lyon player will retire from football.

The midfielder was recently playing for the New York Red Bulls in the United States but left the club due to personal issues.

The announcement is expected to be made by Friday, but the signing has already been confirmed by president Roberto Dinamite.

Roberto Dinamite told a press conference: “We can announce this tomorrow, but I can say that it will be a great contract for Juninho and for Vasco. You’ll have a pleasant surprise tomorrow.”

The club’s director Cristiano Koehler has not confirmed the deal, he told Globo Esporte: “It’s everything well underway, but a few details are left, some small things. I believe everything will be done by tomorrow.”
