Hungarian goalkeeper Dániel Kovács is on trial at Fluminense, after impressing the Brazilian club in a recent friendly game in Europe.

He shone despite the fact his team Vasas Kubala were beaten 1-4 by Fluminense"s under 20 team in a friendly tournament in Hungary.

Fluminense"s head of youth developed Fernando Simone talked with Globo Esporte about Kovács, he said: “We watched Dániel during our trip [to Europe] and we brought him back for a period of trials.

He will initially stay with us for two months, then he might stay until December and sign a contract in the future."

Nikola Damjanac was the last European goalkeeper to play for Fluminense, he had a short and disappointing spell at the club in 2001.
