Real Madrid jump to the head of the queue of Europe’s biggest clubs by agreeing an ‘option’ to sign Sao Paulo defender Cicinho.
Man Utd thought they were leading the race for the Brazilian right back. However, Real are now firmly in pole position after brokering a deal with Sao Paulo.
It has been reported that the agreement allows Real to sign the 25-year-old in the future.
A 5 year deal has been agreed for Cicinho and he will become a Real player as soon as the Spanish giants decide to complete the transfer.
“We have an option only and we are yet to see if he comes in January, or December, but the only thing I know is that Real Madrid has an option on him.” Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo said.
The Brazilian is busy obtaining an Italian passport which will make him even more attractive player to Real Madrid.
